AMAZINGLY SIMPLE INSTALLATION
Set up is a real breeze, with POE (Power Over Ethernet) technology, you can transmit power and the video signal across one cable back to your recorder or router. Mounting the camera should always be an easy thing, and UNV cameras are the best at it. Remove the back panel and mount it to the ceiling to get your desired view. It also comes with a second power option with a local DC power transformer. FAQ
Q: How does the camera receive power?
A: Through the use of POE. Our NVR's have POE built directly into the unit, otherwise you'll need to use a switch. This is possible because it sends the video and power directly through the same cable. With this model there is also an option to use local 12V DC power.
Q: What type of cable do I use?
A: You'll want to use CAT5E
Q: What is DWDR?
A: Digital WDR (DWDR) is a software-based technique that optimizes image quality when a light source is behind what you are trying to capture, like a storefront with windows or door. The light shining behind a person would general completely darken the image. DWDR helps combat that.
Q: Will this camera work with my existing NVR?
A: Potentially, it is ONVIF compliant. You will need to check with your system to see if it is compatible.
Q: Does it record audio?
A: Yes, with a built in microphone and speaker it is able to support audio detection, two way audio, and even alarm linkage
Q: How far can I run the cable?
A: A good rule to stick by is 100M which translates to roughly 330ft. However there are ways to extend this with proprietary technology. You're going to want to call us to find out the best way to do it for your specific project.
Q: What is the maximum size SD card I can use?
A: 256GB Micro SD.
Q: Does this produce a wide angle?
A: Absolutely, 1.8mm is a fisheye angle view that covers 360 degrees.
Q: What is DHCP?
A: It stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol and it allows the camera to accept an IP address automatically from the NVR. This will save you time and hassle when installing the system.
