Bitrate Chart
The following chart is a collection of recommended bit rates based on testing in a controlled environment.
Considering each network has unique features, these settings may not be ideal for every network. Please analyze the traffic and hardware present on a network before setting bit rates for each camera.
Additionally, recommended settings are based on viewing all cameras at once. Less cameras would require less upload speed. Live viewing of cameras is also dependent on the processing power of the computer viewing it.
Note: Systems containing 16 or more cameras should be based on local networks with 1000 Mbps. Anything less may create throughput issues resulting in lost footage. This may show in the form and skipping/lagging video images.
# of Cameras | Local Network Speeds | Remote Network Upload Speeds (Main Stream) |

Storage Tips
Set up Motion
Setting up motion recording only can save up to 50% of the storeage normally used.
Set up a Schedule
Setting up a schedule to record only when people are not on location this can also save up to 25% of storage normally used.
Lower Bit Rates
Lower bit rates can save up to 50% of storage needed or more. Using VBR instead of CBR can automaticly save storage when no motion is occuring.
Enable Smart Codecs
Enabling Smart Codecs can save up to 80% of storage space needed by compressing the storage footage better and running at a lower bit rate.
