What is the difference between the hard drives we carry and standard hard drives? Is there an actual benefit to choosing one over the other?
The difference is we care that you choose the correct memory storage device for the job. Our “Surveillance” or “Enterprise” classes of hard drives are meant for always-on operation and have higher reliability rates, optimized for recording high definition video 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year, which can be a medium to high level of operating capacity. Standard hard drives, meant for home or office computers and general file creation and transferring, are only meant to be on about 8 hours a day, 6 days a week, and operate at low to medium operating capacity.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME?
Essentially, our hard drives have a higher-write workload capability than a standard desktop hard drive, meaning it can last longer and have much more data written to it and read off of it before a failure happens.
