Our new line of 4 mega pixel digital video recorders are certainly industry heavy-weights. This 8 Channel DVR can record in full 4MP with HD-CVI cams, but can also accept older CVBS devices using Analog resolutions so that those with older systems can do upgrades bit by bit in order to gain higher resolutions images around the home or business. On top of that, you can get even more coverage by tying in up to 6 IP cameras that do not have to be wired directly to the system while using 6 HD-CVI cams, or up to 12 IP cameras in all that can record up to 5MP. These traditional Analog or IP cams can be of just about any brand and still work on this video recorder, as the system is ONVIF compliant.

On the inside, it can handle a 8TB hard drive and it compresses the video to H.264+/H.264 in order to get the most storage capacity. Networking the system will allow you to see live footage of all streaming feeds or just one, review history and back up files from remote access on a smartphone, tablet or PC.

Q: Can I add cameras from another manufacturer?
A: While the DVR is ONVIF compliant and can interface with many brands of IP cams, it is not yet able to accept hard-wired cams from anything other than HD-CVI or CVBS video signals.

Q: Can the digital video recorder power the cameras?
A: No, they would require an external power source.

Q: Are you able to see the system from remote access?
A: Yes, as long as the system is networked it can be viewed on a smartphone, tablet or PC.

Q: Why is it sold without a hard drive?
A: It's so that you can make a decision on how much record time you need, as everyone's needs are different.
